Now Playing: The wolf path by Sanctorum
So, I’m a musician. “You must write music then,” one might say.
First of all, how dare you assume things of me. Second of all, how dare you assume things of me and have the audacity to be correct. /lh
Yes, I do write music, and it can be interesting. Having ADHD (which I affectionately refer to as brain go brr disease), I can go through periods where I’m basically writing constantly and it feels really easy to just put out music and be creative, but on the flipside, I can also go through periods where I don’t write anything for weeks and feel really out of creativity, which can be a slight hit to motivation.
This has not stopped me from putting out one EP and coming up with a second longer form release, which is the subject of this here post.
My upcoming release is something I wrote over the period of several months, with inspiration from several different places and times. It’s my second ever proper release, and I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.
It’s called Autumn Leaves, and it’s comprised of 4 different songs, all of them being inspired and reminiscent of different aspects of autumn, as the name implies. I wrote this album (EP? I don’t really know the difference) as a celebration of the fall equinox.
As it is a celebration of autumn and the fall equinox, I figured it would be fitting to have it release on the day of the fall equinox proper, which takes place on September 23rd of this year.
As I said, I’m really happy with how it turned out. The third track is a multi movement piece, my first multi movement composition to be released.
I’m considering doing a series of posts where I go over my inspiration for every track I’ve released, and of course, these new songs would be on there. If you are interested, I’d love to know what kinds of things you want to know about my process when it comes to music writing and releasing, so feel free to leave a comment with any questions you have or random other things you want to know about my process.
