Now Playing: White Willow by Elvenking
Before it comes up, yes, I’m aware of the irony of a folk metal fan being a pagan and wanting to preserve nature and all that. I know I’m a bit of a walking stereotype, and I’m okay with that.
Anyway, given that Earth is basically the only place we have to live right now, doing whatever possible to keep it not dead (yet) is kind of a priority. There are a few ways to go about this.
Donations to wildlife/nature conservation organisations are a always good option. It doesn’t have to be much, even a small donation often helps more than you think. I personally donate to Nature Conservatory Canada monthly, in an amount of $10.69 (nice). The reason it’s so specific is because $10 was the minimum donation amount and the guy I was talking to was in a competition with a coworker to try and get more people giving more than the minimum, so I went with that because it’s affordable and has a haha funny number.
Other ways to honour the earth whenever possible include walking or biking places when possible and recycling when you can. If you have to, the bus can also help, but it’s generally not the best, because it takes a while and often isn’t much better than a car, though more people taking the bus can mean less cars on the road, which isn’t always necessarily a bad thing.
Now, granted, most of the things individual people can do won’t have much of an impact as long as large corporations are allowed to keep going as they currently are, but there isn’t much to be done with that specifically, outside of protesting as far as I know, which isn’t always within the time some people have available.
Anyway, I know this post is later than usual, and not as good, but this is the best I can think of for right now, and I hope it helps.
